The Stone Sky, the final book in N.K. Jemisin’s Hugo Award-winning Broken Earth trilogy, follows Essun and her daughter Nassun on their separate journeys across a post-apocalyptic landscape that is constantly threatened by deadly earthquakes. Essun, now fully in control of her orogenic powers, sets out to end the Season by recapturing the Moon and thus stopping the deadly Fifth Seasons. Nassun, disillusioned by the prejudice and cruelty she’s experienced, intends to destroy the world once and for all. Through their experiences, the novel explores themes of oppression, identity, and the human will to survive.
